Philadelphia’s Hometown Half Marathon Relay
RACE DATE: JUNE 2ND, 2019
START TIME: 7:00 AM
THE START: MEMORIAL HALL
THE RELAY POINT: EAST PARK (RANDOLPH & RESERVOIR DRIVES)
THE FINISH: MLK DRIVE AT BLACK ROAD
THE COURSE: Half the distance, double the fun! Run Philly’s most scenic half marathon course with a friend. Each runner in the relay will take on 6.55 miles, just over a 10K. Starting in front of Memorial Hall, the half marathon winds through Fairmount Park passing the Smith Memorial, Mann Music Center, Japanese Teahouse, Laurel Hill Cemetery and more.
Both runners should report to the start of the race at Memorial Hall
Relay Runner 1 will run the start of the race to the relay exchange point at East Park
Relay Runner 2 will be shuttled to the relay exchange point at East Park
Relay Runner 2 will run from the relay exchange point at East Park to the finish on MLK at Black Road
Relay Runner 1 will be shuttled to the finish festival at Memorial Hall
Both runners will receive shirts, medals and beer tickets
THE EXCHANGE: Approximately 100 yards prior to the relay exchange you will see signs indicating the Relay Exchange Area. Relay Runners must stay to the right and enter the exchange are to tag in their team members. It is the responsibility of the Relay Teams and team members to be aware and prepared for when their team member will be arriving at the relay exchange.
Please note: There will be a water stop on the left side of the road at the exchange area and half marathon runners will also stay to the left.
THE REGISTRATION PROCESS: The first team member to sign up will create the team name, become the team captain and pay for their entry fee. The second team member will select the team name when registering and pay their entry fee. Captains - make sure your team member knows the team name so they can select it when registering.
